The American Legion is proud to introduce “Welcome Home,” the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Memorial Foundation’s new podcast series produced by the Tango Alpha Lima podcast. Get a sneak peak of the new podcast in this pilot episode.
In the initial episode, GWOT foundation CEO Michael “Rod” Rodriguez chats with Chief of Staff Jennifer Ballou, who will host the upcoming series. They talk about their personal connections to the Global War on Terrorism, the foundation and the first season, which will focus on the memorial’s design.
“First of all, this podcast is for everyone,” Ballou said. “The Global War on Terrorism Memorial that will ultimately be on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., will honor all those who served and sacrificed in GWOT. That being said, the American people are a huge part of that story. And so this podcast is for everybody to learn more about the foundation and our work that will eventually lead to the dedication of that memorial.”
Hosting and producing the GWOT podcast represents an evolution of Tango Alpha Lima, which has won four major awards and ranks among the top 10% of podcasts.
“The American Legion is excited for this partnership,” said American Legion Media and Communications Commission Chairman Dave Wallace, a Navy veteran who retired in 2009. “As a veteran who served during the Global War on Terrorism, this memorial is important to me. And this podcast initiative is a great way to honor and remember all who served during these two decades of war.”
Stay tuned for the first season, which will consist of six weekly episodes, publishing each Thursday morning from Oct. 2 through Nov. 6.
