Visit legion.org/training to register for the May 26 Training Tuesday session.
The American Legion’s Training Tuesday on May 26 is on how cognitive health is an important part of overall wellness. The training will focus on why brain health awareness matters for Legionnaires, families, caregivers and community members, whether they are thinking ahead for themselves, supporting loved ones, or noticing changes in members of their post or community.
Register here for the May 26 training at 7 p.m. Eastern.
The training will be presented by Dr. Bert Vargas, a former flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force and sports neurologist who serves as a neurotrauma consultant for the INDYCAR medical team. He will share practical, non-branded information related to cognitive health, early awareness, and available educational resources. The session will highlight how family, friends and community members often play an important role in recognizing changes over time and encouraging meaningful conversations about brain health.
This session will also explore how American Legion members and post leaders can share brain health information at the local level and connect veterans and families with helpful resources.
This session is educational only and will not include drug, treatment or sales discussion.
