American Legion to have presence at New Jersey air show

The Department of New Jersey will have a booth set up in Veterans Row at the Atlantic City Air Show on Aug. 18.

Atlantic City, N.J., is pleased to announce the hosting of its 18th annual Atlantic City Air Show: “A Salute to Those Who Serve” that will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18.  American Legion Department of New Jersey is coordinating and managing Veterans Row which will consists of up to 18 veteran-related organizations that are statewide, regional and national. The veteran organizations, including The American Legion, will talk with veterans and their families about benefits they have earned as a result of their military service and resources available to them. 

Bob Looby, chairman of the Department of New Jersey’s Employment, Homeless and Education Committee and past department commander, said The American Legion has a great time interacting with thousands of veterans, their families and non-veterans “interested in who we are.” The 2020 air show was cancelled because of COVID, however, during the 2019 air show Looby said they signed up 39 new members into The American Legion. 

Veterans Row will be located in front of the New Jersey Korean War Memorial on the Boardwalk.

The air show will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2300 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, N.J., 08401.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds is the headline act for the Atlantic City Air Show.
