American Legion members contributed more than $11 million worth of volunteer hours during the 2026 Fiscal Year, according to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) records.
Each fiscal year, VA reports the number of volunteer hours, and the value of that time. For the fiscal year that ended Oct. 1, 2026, American Legion members were credited with 310,511.8 hours at an estimated overall value of $11,221,896.45 for VA.
That is similar to the previous fiscal year. The American Legion posted 326,309.44 volunteer hours for fiscal year 2025 with an estimated value of $11,352,305.42.
