Major, minor and non-recurring maintenance, leases among the issues discussed during briefing.

On March 26, American Legion Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Division Director Barry A. Searle attended a briefing at the Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office concerning VA's Strategic Capital Investment Plan. The purpose of the meeting was to update the major VSOs of the process for 2012 and beyond.

The pre-decisional overview outlined the way VA intends to address major, minor, and non-recurring maintenance and leases in 2011. This plan involves all VA facilities - Veterans Health Administration,Veterans Benefits Administration and the National Cemetery Administration - and not just the health-care arena. It is a systemic approach to prioritizing the repair and construction of the VA infrastructure.
