A March 16 town hall meeting for veterans will be followed by a three-day Veterans Benefits Center.
The American Legion is holding a town hall meeting on March 16 in Philadelphia to discuss the quality of health care local veterans are receiving from local Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities.
Veterans will also be asked to talk about their experiences with VA’s processing system for benefits claims, and the quality of how those claims are being adjudicated.
The Legion also will operate a Veterans Benefits Center (VBC) to help veterans enroll in VA health care, schedule VA medical appointments, file VA disability or pension benefits claims, and provide information about GI Bill education benefits.
The town hall meeting, set to begin at 7 p.m. on Monday the 16th, will be at American Legion Post 810, 9151 Old Newton Rd. in Philadelphia. Local veterans, especially those currently receiving VA health care, are encouraged to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
The VBC will be at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, 3900 Woodland Ave., Room 7A141 (Activities Room). Operating hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on March 17 and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. March 18-19.
The American Legion conducts town hall meetings and VBCs across the country as part of its national program to improve VA health care and help veterans get the benefits they have earned through their military service.
