Government shutdown resource guide now available

Guide includes information on our grant program, how to reach a service officer and resources available to service branches.

With the federal government shutdown entering its third week, The American Legion has put together a resource guide for veterans, servicemembers and their families. Download the guide here.

The guide includes information on the Legion’s Temporary Financial Assistance program, which provides cash grants to support the minor children of active-duty servicemembers and American Legion members in times of need. There’s also guidance on how to reach an accredited American Legion service officer to file a benefits claim with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Also included in the guide:

·         Contingency plans for federal departments
