Health Care Center debuts on website

New section will focus on key issues in veterans health care, as well as updates on the Legion's System Worth Saving program.

Veterans seeking the latest information on health care available to them now have a spot on The American Legion's website to turn to for that information. The Health Care Center features breaking news on Department of Veterans Affairs' health care, a step-by-step guide on how to enroll in the VA health-care system, and information on conditions such as traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, military sexual trauma, and polytrauma.

The site also contains a link to the Legion's System Worth Saving page, which explains the mission of the System Worth Saving program and provides information on the task force members. Also included on the page is a map that shows the different System Worth Saving visits this year and feedback from some VA patients on the care they receive. Late in the visitation cycle, Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation staff began collecting information on VA patients; as the visits begin next year, patient interviews will be collected from each visit and loaded onto the map.
