Legion TBI/PTSD survey ends Feb. 28

With only two days left, The American Legion is urging veterans with TBI and/or PTSD to participate in its online survey.

Since Feb. 3, nearly 3,000 veterans have taken part in The American Legion’s online survey that seeks more information on treatments being used for traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With only two days left before the survey ends, the Legion is urging America’s veterans to weigh in with their responses before midnight on Feb. 28.

"We’ve already gotten a substantial response to our survey," said Verna Jones, director of the Legion’s Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Division in Washington. "But we’d like as many of our country’s veterans who suffer from these two conditions to tell us about the treatments they’ve been receiving, and their thoughts on how well they worked – or if they worked at all. So we hope to see even more veterans take our survey during these last two days before it ends."

The Legion’s survey is a continuation of its focus on treatments for TBI and PTSD. It created a committee in 2010 to study alternative and complementary therapies for the conditions, and published its findings last September in a report, "The War Within."

Jones said results from the survey, developed in collaboration with Data Recognition Corporation, will be announced and discussed at a Legion symposium that’s tentatively planned for this spring.

If you are veteran with TBI and/or PTSD, take the survey here.
