Women's Health Transition Training designed to provide servicewomen training and information on women-centric issues, including enrolling in and using Department of Veterans Affairs health care.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is offering virtual training for women servicemembers transitioning from active duty to reserve components or who are making the transition into civilian life. Women's Health Transition Training is designed to complement the existing Transition Assistance Program by providing servicewomen training and information on women-centric issues, such as VA’s whole-health approach to women’s health care, services available to women veterans and how to enroll in VA health care. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to encourage more women to see that there is a place for them in the VA health-care system by educating them on the services that VA has to offer.

The Women’s Health Transition Training is led by a woman veteran who uses VA health care and consists of five phases:

• Phase 1 — The Shift from Active Duty. You will learn about the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), the transition from active duty to civilian or Guard/reserve and making the change from the military health system to VHA.

• Phase 2 — Understanding the VHA. You will learn about the VA, women’s health providers, the MISSION Act and programs that support the need for women-specific health care.

• Phase 3 — Available Women’s Health Services. You will hear about the health services available to you if you enroll in VA health care.

• Phase 4 — Enrolling in the VA. You will learn about the eligibility and enrollment process.

• Phase 5 — Transition Assistance. You will learn about other available support services and partners as you transition out of active duty.

Virtual sessions will be held twice daily through Dec. 21, 2020. To enroll in the training, visit https://www.va.gov/womenvet/whtt/.
