With Mental Health Awareness Month ongoing, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has launched its Mental Health Month campaign, “May Is Mental Health Month”. The campaign provides an opportunity to hear real veterans tell their stories about what made the difference in their mental health journeys and how it changed their daily lives.
Throughout May, the Mental Health Month website will provide relatable resources to help guide veterans, and their family members and friends, along their mental health journey.
Help spread the word about Mental Health Awareness Month and veterans’ mental health success stories by sharing content available here.
The American Legion’s top mission is to prevent veteran suicide through our Be the One program. We're working to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment, providing free suicide prevention training and empowering everyone to take appropriate action when a veteran or service member may be at risk.
