The Legion asked Trump and Biden about how they would improve access to VA care amid the pandemic.
The American Legion and about a dozen other veterans service organizations worked together with Military Times on a virtual question-and-answer session with the major presidential candidates.
Each campaign was presented the same set of questions and agreed to provide video responses to the veterans groups. Earlier this month, President Donald Trump’s campaign instead provided his answers in a series of written responses. Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign provided videos addressing the questions.
The American Legion’s question related to how the candidates would improve access to normal VA medical care — a promise of the MISSION Act — while the nation continues to deal with the pandemic.
