It’s not a ordinary book, but chances are you have probably never heard of it. You won’t be seeing it on the NY Times bestseller list any time soon, because I write about things that society doesn’t want to talk about: drugs and addiction. Society wants to ignore that we have a problem until it hits closer to home, their family. My book is for all of us who may have lost a friend, son, daughter, mother, father. It’s a voice for those who can no longer tell us the dangers of addiction. For years I tried to hide my addiction, believing that I could control it.

We never think we have a problem until we try to stop and can’t. I was the guy who was in the process of throwing his life away, but found a way to beat an addiction by writing about it to uncover the ugly truth. Addiction destroys us from the inside out and it doesn’t care about color, race, religion or who you know.
My journey from addiction to recovery was a struggle, I remember during my 1st year of sobriety I had to walk a mile to catch the bus every morning, rain or shine. I remember waking up before the sun and getting home after dark every day. Recovery is about showing up each day to do the next right thing, it's about being proactive in recovery, and it's deeper than just staying sober, it's about fixing the areas of your life that need to be fixed. It's about believing in you again - we've always had that power to break away buried deep inside us.
