The American Legion’s mission to meet the needs of kids fills 16-page downloadable publication.
The 2026 edition of The Whole Child is now available for download or as a digital flipbook on legion.org. The publication, in support of The American Legion’s Children & Youth Committee of the national Americanism Commission, presents fresh metrics and voices that show how the nation’s largest veterans service organization fulfills this pillar mission.
The Whole Child, now in its third edition, is published every April in honor of American Legion Children & Youth Month.
Included is a brief history of the Legion’s Children & Youth pillar, explanations of each program or service within it today, and the impact metrics that show how the Legion is changing lives every day for future generations, regardless of their circumstances.
The publication also includes selected American Legion Child Well-being Foundation grant recipients and the portfolio of current national resolutions related to children and youth.
