Legion magazine remains best-read

American Legion Magazine retained its spot as the No. 1 U.S. magazine in terms of reader frequency, according to a new independent audit.

The audit — called GfK MRI Doublebase 2017 — surveyed subscribers of nearly 200 U.S. magazines. The findings revealed that American Legion Magazine had the highest percentage (77.5) of subscribers who had read at least the past three out of four issues and the highest percentage (72.2) who had read each of the most recent four issues.

"It's notable that American Legion Magazine is the only magazine with higher than 70 percent of its readers saying they read each of the past four magazines," said Walter Ivie, chairman of the Media and Communications Commission, which oversees the magazine and most other Legion media products. "As indicated by its popularity, the magazine is a quality product that helps keep our members engaged on core issues. It's a great benefit of membership in The American Legion."
