American Legion Twitter hits 100k followers

The American Legion National Headquarters Twitter account recently surpassed 100,000 followers and has grown by more than 4,300 in the past three months alone.

Those who follow The American Legion on Twitter receive the latest statements from National Commander Brett Reistad, links to stories that appear both on www.legion.org and from outside media sources covering issues of interest to Legion Family members, and information on American Legion programs and services.

The social media platform also is used to share videos from American Legion events such as the national convention, The American Legion Legacy Run and special programs being conducted by American Legion posts.

The American Legion is followed on Twitter by members of Congress, various national and local media outlets and personalities, the departments of Labor, Veterans Affairs and Defense, other veterans service organizations, and Legionnaires and American Legion posts and departments across the country.
