Are troops being paid too much?

The second season of The American Legion’s Tango Alpha Lima podcast is off to a riveting start. As part of its refresh, each podcast episode is available for download or viewing on YouTube by 9 a.m. Eastern each Tuesday.

Tango Alpha Lima, which debuted in April 2020, is hosted by American Legion members Mark Seavey, Jeff Daly and Ashley Gorbulja-Maldonado. Each week a new episode features the three post 9/11 veterans exploring current events, interesting trends and quirky stories of interest to the military community.

In this week’s episode, the co-hosts answer the question, “are troops being paid too much?”, discuss the mishandling of a sailor who sought treatment for mental health and cheer an American Legion Boys State alum selected to an elite space team.

The debut episode of Tango Alpha Lima featured Jared Lyon, the president and CEO of Student Veterans of America. Lyon, a Navy veteran, talks about how the Legion helped bring SVA to life, a landmark study SVA conducted related to the GI Bill and more.

If you missed the season debut, it is available, as well as the entire catalog from the first season, in both audio and video formats here.

Among the recent kudos coming into the worldwide headquarters of Tango Alpha Lima was praise from a Legionnaire from the Department of Maine.

“I would like to say how much I look forward to watching the three of you interact with your guests and each other,” wrote Linwood Bailey. “I know you help me stay informed and amused. Best wishes for 2021 and above all, stay safe!”
