Members of the National Membership & Post Activities Committee will review five-year strategic membership plan, resolutions and outreach efforts to minority veterans.

Members of The American Legion’s National Membership & Post Activities Committee are meeting in Indianapolis Friday and Saturday to discuss progress toward the Legion’s five-year membership strategic plan and departments’ ongoing responsibilities toward the plan’s success.

The committee will also strategize outreach efforts to minority veterans, discuss changes to the National Membership Awards Points Manual, and review Resolution 18 passed during the 2015 Spring Meetings, which gives membership credit to departments for transferring first and second-year Direct Membership Solicitation members into local posts.

National Membership & Post Activities Committee Chairman Kenneth Orrock of South Dakota will lead the meeting, and opening remarks will be given by National Commander Dale Barnett and leading candidate for 2016-2017 national commander Charles Schmidt of Oregon.
