Buddy Checks, veterans assistance set for Atlanta area

Department of Georgia Legionnaires are staging a revitalization and veteran outreach effort from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 in the Atlanta area. The effort will take place American Legion Post 264, 6251 Ivey Road SE, Mableton. The Legionnaires will be conducting post-COVID Buddy Checks during the two days.

Veterans in the area are invited to learn about American Legion programs, the Legion’s lobbying efforts and potential veterans benefits. A veterans service officer will be available both days to assist with Department of Veterans Affairs-related issues and other veterans benefits-related questions, including PACT Act assistance.
