Veterans benefits assistance set for Arkansas
Veterans in and around White, Cleburne and Woodruff Counties in Arkansas are invited to get Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) benefits assistance – including with PACT Act claims – while learning about American Legion programs and advocacy during outreach efforts April 18-20.
The effort will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at each of the three sites:
· April 18 – Valley Baptist Church, 3328 Hwy 36 West, Searcy.
· April 19 – American Legion Post 64, 49 Park Road, Heber Springs.
· April 20 – American Legion Post 112, 604 N. Edmonds, McCrory.
An accredited veterans service officer will be on site all three days to provide assistance with VA claims and questions.
Coinciding with the revitalization efforts is an effort to organize an American Legion post in Newport, Ark., starting at noon April 21 at the Newport Chamber Building, and an engagement event with Arkansas National Guard Headquarters and Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion, 153rd Infantry on April 22 at 3105 South Main Street in Searcy.
