March Impact: Membership growth, help for the homeless

From congressional testimony in D.C. to school lunch debt relief in Michigan, Legionnaires were at work across the country in March.

In a month that included American Legion National Commander Daniel J. Seehafer’s testimony before a joint session of the House and Senate Committees on Veterans’ Affairs, benefits assistance in South Carolina and school-lunch debt relief in Howell, Mich., the organization truly made differences at the community, state and national levels in March.

Commander Seehafer’s testimony fueled thousands of e-mails from Legionnaires to their elected officials through the Grassroots Action Center, and a Sons of the American Legion squadron in Kansas delivered needed items for veterans in VA’s Homeless Program.
