Alabama Vietnam War Memorial
This memorial is dedicated in honor of all those from the state of Alabama who made the supreme sacrifice by laying down their life for their country in Vietnam, 1959-1975. The design of the memorial, dedicated in 1993, is intended to be similar to the design of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. Made of black marble, it is meant to symbolize the tear the conflict had on our country, with the names of all Alabamians who were lost from 1959 to 1975 listed in order of their loss from left to right.
