The memorial is dedicated to all World War II veterans with an honor roll of the names of those veterans from Barbour County in downtown Eufaula, Alabama. The Alabama Coastal Artillery was federalized and placed under the command of the US Army during World War II. The men of this battalion deployed on board the Queen Mary to fight World War II in Australia.
