Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial

Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial
A living trees tribute to especially honor CT fallen service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice while deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, post 911. The Memorial also honors all veterans. It is a 2+ acre tribute of flowering trees that wraps around a large, reflecting pond with a fountain. This beautiful memorial contains 65 granite monuments bearing laser etched hero photos and personal information on black, laser etched granite plaques for each fallen hero. The memorial features a winding, paved walkway with a large Flag Ceremonial Plaza, stately entrance plaza with monuments and story plaques, a 911 tribute and mounted rail artifact from the World Trade Center, and a unique, original bronze sculpture entitled "First Tear" created by Vietnam Veteran Andrew Chernak of Pennsylvania who also created the Gold Star Mothers sculpture which is displayed in Waterbury, CT City Hall and which will be added to a special section of Arlington National Cemetery.
