The Veterans Memorial Park and Museum was constructed to serve as a museum to display military artifacts and to act as a meeting place for small groups. The park is now the location of a beautiful monument called the "Freedom Memorial" which was erected to honor all members of the military, both living and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Since 2011, six new memorials have been added to the park, which includes war memorials for: Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Spanish American, Fallen Heroes and Committed Forces. A new Veterans Resource Center building was dedicated during 2017 and nearly twenty memorials, including the six already built, and the following: Medal of Honor, POW/MIA, Purple Heart, Civil War, Seminole Wars, Mexican American War, WW I, War Dogs, Gulf War and Afghanistan. Most recently the WW II Memorial was dedicated on 7 December 2017.
