A statue of a Union soldier guards the entrance of Hampshire Center Cemetery (17N017 Harmony Rd, Hampshire, Illinois). Inscription "In memory of our soldier and sailor boys whose bodies lie in unknown graves." Numerous Civil War veterans as well as three War of 1812 veterans are buried at Hampshire Center Cemetery.
