Vinton Veteran's Memorial Park has a Memorial Stone for ALL Veterans; men and women that served in the military, and those KIA. (attached Picture) First off, there are 7 flag poles for all 5 branches of the Service, an Iowa flag, and a POW/MIA flag below the US flag. Purchased by the City of Vinton, Iowa. Park and Recreation Dept. (attached picture) The First Memorial is an American Marine 105 Howitzer, used in Vietnam. Acquired by a Retired US Marine Major Larry Michael of Vinton, Iowa.; who has since "passed away", due to Agent Orange, while serving in Vietnam. (attached picture) WWII - Iwo Jima Memorial, made life size of 1/4" sheet steel, all "powder coated" to prevent rust. Donated by the VFW Post 8884 and AmVets Post 218 of Vinton, Iowa. There is an area in the Vinton, IA - Vet's Memorial Park that honors all US Navy personnel, placed by the Vince Blank Family, as he served 30+ years in the US Navy. While in the Navy Vince Blank served in: WWII, the Korean War, and in Vietnam. (attached picture) The Korean War Memorial Stone in rememberance of those that fought in and died in the Korean War. Donated by; Darlene Werning, (Husband served in Korea), the VFW Post 8884, and AmVets Post 218 of Vinton, Iowa. (attached picture) The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Bench was purchased by John and Anita Nolan, of Chads Ford, PA. This is honoring the men and women that served in the Military, and those KIA., in Vietnam. Ronnie Johnson, Joe Fowler, and Wayne Wutzke, were KIA in Vietnam. Handled and placed by the VFW Post 8884, and AmVets Post 218. (attached picture) The Fallen Soldier Memorial for the men & women that served during Persian Gulf, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Desert Storm. (attached picture)
