The memorial honors all the Veterans from Clearbrook and the surrounding area, going back to the Civil War. The gray monuments signify the six branches of service, including Merchant Marines. Pavers in the middle strip are dedicated to veterans from people that helped sponsor the memorial. The black monuments are dedicated to all veterans from the area that lost their lives in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the Persian Gulf conflicts.
