Gore, the first settler in what is now known as Calhoun City.  The Marker is in Calhoun County at the intersection of Public Square and Main Street on the Southern end of the public square near the Calhoun County War Memorial.       The monument was erected by Calhoun County Rotary Club, American Legion Post 50 and Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26 and Auxiliary, VFW Post 05571, MS Department of Archives and History.
