
The Lamar County War Memorial is located in Purvis, Mississippi next to the old Lamar County Courthouse and was dedicated in 1983 by the Lamar County Historic Society to honor all of those from Lamar County who died in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. This monument is a 10 foot hexagonal structure with an eagle with spread wings mounted on top. A dedication plate on the front face and on the other faces are inscribed the names of those from Lamar County that were killed.
