Civil War Soldier

Civil War Soldier
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War of Long Island have been preparing to restore the Civil War Grand Army of the Republic monument that sits in front of the American Legion Post 269 side entrance next door to Patchogue Village Hall. The statue was originally erected in 1885, in front of the old Patchogue High School at its first location on Academy Street. Then, sometime in the 1920s, it was moved to the American Legion, where it remains.
