The park was originally donated in 1928 by Col. Eugene C. Peck to be a veterans’ park in perpetuity. In 2017 the park was rededicated and officially named Nordonia Hills Veterans Memorial Park. Besides the main monument to honor all veterans, there are 11 monuments for each major conflict. From the project’s inception, the monuments were to be about what the veterans sacrificed for their country and fellow Americans. Each monument has a brief history on one side and photos and names of locations on the other side. In addition, there is a small rock waterfall in front of the KIA Memorial of those area servicemen who gave their lives. along with a Blue Star Memorial as a tribute to the Armed Forces. The park is ADA-compliant from its walkways to its picnic tables and restroom. The Nordonia Hills Veterans Memorial Park Foundation is 501(c)(3).
