The Americal Division Monument was dedicated May 10th 2017 on Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The monument was built to honor the Americal Division. It was dedicated as a permanent memorial to all artillery branch veterans of the Americal Division. Three vertical granite stones with the lead stone black polished granite and the other two a light gray granite stone. On the lead black granite stone is the story of the Americal 23rd Infantry Division. On the left gray stone is the start of the Americal Division in WWII listing events in history. On the right gray stone list events in the Cold War and Vietnam War. This monument was four years in the making. The monument is at Constitution Park immediately adjacent to the Artillery Museum at Fort Sill. Americal Legacy Foundation Director Roger Gilmore says this monument will serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the Americal Division.
