
Seven gray granite polished monoliths with beautiful engraving on granite. The Center granite has American flags and eagle at the top followed by "Kay County War Memorial". Next emblems of all 5 US Armed Services are engraved horizontally. Inscription:"...that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Abraham Lincoln A roll of honored dead are engraved on the other gray granite vertical stones with the war listed followed by their names. Dedicated November 11, 1991. Gray granite benches are located around the center area of the display. Two gray granite stones with an American flag plus an eagle in the center has engraved the following information: Left Eagle: "We Are Young. We Have Died. Remember Us. Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing, we cannot say; it is you who must say this. We Were Young. We Have Died. Remember Us"......Archibald MacLeish Right Eagle: "....let us never forget the costly sacrifice they have laid upon the Altar of Freedom." Abraham Lincoln
