The dedication ceremony was held August 27, 2016, at the intersection of Highway 16 and 75th Street in Okay, Oklahoma. The 6-by 5-foot 3,750-pound Light gray granite memorial. At the top are the engraved words “Okay, Oklahoma”. Next is an engraved eagle symbol and below are 5 of the logos for the military services. At the bottom area are the words engraved “Dedicated to all the veterans who honorably served their country." At the bottom is the engraved words “Okay Preservation Committee 2016”. On the back centered at the top is a beautiful colored American flag. Following the American flag are the words “Honoring All Who Served” then engraved are the names of 195 veterans. Since the Okay Veterans Monument's unveiling, the Okay Preservation Committee installed lighting that illuminates the American flag. Two benches with the five service emblems emblazoned on them sit at angles to each other on a concrete pad in front of the monument. The city of Okay feels this is an opportunity for the town to remember and support its military. The names on the monument span all the way from the Civil War to residents currently in military service.
