Stuart War Memorial School District I-54. Cassel Osbourn Lawrence was the developer and designer of the war memorial in Stuart, Oklahoma giving honor to Stuart High School Alumni. A bell from the Stuart Public School 1909-1956 hangs above the red granite memorials of the Stuart War Memorial. Red granite polished monoliths vertical stones with American flags and eagle at top on center stone. With the words “Stuart War Memorial School district I-54”. On the bottom of the center stone is a picture of Stuart Public School and the statement “Stuart Public School 1909-1956, Stuart, Oklahoma”. Several red granite vertical stones are around back have names of soldiers who have fought in several wars. The left red granite vertical stone has the words “This monument stands as a lasting tribute to our war veterans who fought to preserve American Freedom.” On the bottom is a List of World War I soldiers who fought in WWI those who fought in Korea and Vietnam. On the right red granite vertical stone has the words “This monument stands as a lasting tribute to our war veterans who fought to preserve American Freedom.” On the bottom is a List soldiers who fought in WWII. On Saturday May 9, 1992, at 11 am the townspeople dedicated the war memorial to honor Stuart citizens who have served in the armed forces.
