East Hills Kiwanis Memorial Park to Veterans

East Hills Kiwanis Memorial Park to Veterans
Park dedicated to honoring all from the Johnstown East Hills area in Pennsylvania who lost their lives in the service of their country. It was inspired by two Gold Star mothers, Louise Gavin and Margaret Segrist, who lost their only sons in Vietnam. As per their vision, there is a statue of an American soldier holding a Vietnamese child along with the names of local residents who made that supreme sacrifice from World War I through the present conflicts. Additionally there is a piece of granite that is dedicated to Purple Heart recipients who were killed in action.
