A city block long in size, this memorial designed by architect Jim Gayton features black reflective granite monoliths as an honor roll wall, a fountain, gazebo, numerous benches and quotes from George Washington, Winston Churchill, John F.Kennedy and General George S.Patton. Also incorporated was a 1973 tribute in stone and bronze. When all possible spaces on the honor roll were filled by 2016, a digital wall with interactive video containing the names, pictures, service records and stories of thousands of veterans was added.
