On December 8, 1939, Lloyd Williams Post 41 of The American Legion dedicated a Community Building that it constructed for use by the citizens of Clarke County. It was built by and dedicated to the veterans of World War I. The building was expanded in 1949 and the addition was dedicated on January 19, 1949 to the veterans of World War II.
