Wounded warriors receive golf clubs, outing

A dozen wounded servicemembers received new sets of golf clubs and were treated to a round of golf thanks to The American Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors (OCW) program.

About 20 members from the Department of California’s 22nd District and other Legionnaires from around San Diego attended the March 29 event, which benefited recovering warriors at the Balboa Naval Medical Center. American Legion Post 434 treated the recipients to an awards banquet after the golf outing.

OCW is a Legion program that provides rehabilitation equipment and recreation outings for wounded servicemen and women. A full 100 percent of donations goes toward gifts that help injured and transitioning servicemembers.
