76 Freedom Car team attends Tennessee Legion Convention

Team Johnson Motorsports/American Legion Racing attended the Department of Tennessee's Convention at the Nashville Music Hotel from June 26-27.

Driver, Jerick Johnson addressed Legion, SAL and Auxiliary members during the weekend, inviting the entire Legion family to come out and support their 76 Freedom Car. National Commander David Rehbein was present and congratulated Johnson on his racing season and his continued efforts to promote The American Legion throughout the nation.

Team Johnson Motorsports and The David Law Firm, the co-sponsor of the 76 Freedom Car, sponsors "Operation Freedom Car" supporting our troops overseas with a much needed 4-in-1 concentrated hygiene product. Four products combined in one bottle: shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shave. The show car displays the names of the posts and/or individual participants of the "Operation Freedom Car" program on the hood. Members enjoyed reading and finding the many names printed on the decal.

Martha Goldman and Cheryl Ingram from The David Law Firm were in attendance at the convention. The David Law Firm helps veterans diagnosed with asbestos-related cancers. The firm's ad is featured on the inside back cover of The American Legion Magazine. The Legion thanks Martha and Cheryl for their services and dedication to helping our veterans receive the compensation they deserve.

The American Legion Racing Team wishes to express a very special thank you to Department Commander Don Mathis and Department Adjutant Mike Hammer. Their consideration and support in hosting the racing team at their department convention was very thoughtful and generous. The opportunity to attend the department convention, and disseminate this information personally and excite the Legion "family" members about these events, was, as they say, priceless.

Also thank you to Darlene Burgess, Randall Mitchell and Rick Bauer for their hospitality throughout our stay. Race dates in Tennessee:
