Legacy Run registration ends Aug. 9

Registration for the 2023 American Legion Legacy Run ends Aug. 9. So far, there have been more than 300 participants and 42 supporters that have signed up. Register online here.

The American Legion Legacy Run will take place Aug. 20-24. The 1,100-mile ride will leave from American Legion Post 6 in Kokomo, Ind., on Aug. 20 and travel through Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee before the final stop at Hendrick Motorsports campus in Concord, N.C., on Aug. 24. Hendrick Motorsports is hosting the riders with festivities, food, demonstrations and campus tours.

Once registration is complete, registrants will receive a copy of medical and release forms in a confirmation email. Complete the medical form and bring it to check-in.

For liability purposes, all riders must register for the Legacy Run for one or multiple days in order to participate. NON-REGISTERED RIDERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN IN OR RIDE WITH THE MAIN BODY OF THE EVENT. Personal protective equipment (eye protection, gloves, pants, boots and helmet) is mandatory while participating in the Legacy Run, regardless of state laws. This is non-negotiable.

This year’s Legacy Run will raise funds for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance with college for children of U.S. military personnel killed while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001, as well as for children of post-9/11 veterans with a combined disability rating of 50 percent or greater by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Last year’s ride raised a record $1,324,548 – the eighth time the Legacy Run has surpassed $1 million.
