Flying Flags for Heroes hits 1 million mark

With three months to go in his year as National Commander of the Sons of The American Legion, Michael Fox’s service project has hit its goal.

Flying Flags for Heroes has now placed 1 million flags on veterans’ graves at over 450 cemeteries nationwide. Fox chose Flying Flags as his service project for his term as national commander.

Flying Flags for Heroes evolved into a national project from a local nonprofit created by teen SAL member Preston Sharp in his hometown of Redding, Calif.

There is still time to participate in the program. For information on how to conduct a Flying Flags for Heroes event and more, go to flyingflagsforheroes.com.
