New podcast focuses on vaccines and veterans suicide

Team Tango is back from its appearance at The American Legion National Convention, which included a special podcast featuring VA Secretary Denis McDonough.

This week’s episode of The American Legion Tango Alpha Lima podcast features a range of issues of interest to the veterans and military community. Leading off, co-host Jeff Daly introduces the Department of Defense policy that servicemembers must get the COVID vaccine or face possible consequences.

“Plunge ahead, people,” co-host Mark Seavey advised, noting how it can’t be worse than over a decade of MREs.

Co-host Ashley Gorbulja-Maldonado discusses how purpose plays a role in the transition of servicemembers back to society, and how it can play a role in reducing the rate of veterans suicide.

“You go into the military, you have a purpose and the stakes are sky high … and then you are done,” Gorbulja-Maldonado said, adding that a purpose can be found in continuing to serve. “That’s what makes The American Legion so attractive to some people. It gives the opportunity to continue to serve.”
