The following are some discounts for veterans and servicemembers for restaurants, retail outlets and recreational opportunities for Veterans Day. While these have been verified, check your local franchise to be sure that they are honoring the discounts and for more information.

Birmingham Zoo, Birmingham, Ala.

In honor of Veterans Day, all veterans, active and retired military and their dependents will receive FREE admission to the Birmingham Zoo on Saturday, Nov. 9 until Monday, Nov. 11.

City Museum, St. Louis

At City Museum, nothing is more important than family so we're making it easier for our servicemembers to spend time with those they love the most. On Monday,  Nov. 11, we will be open to the public with free admission for veterans.  

Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Va.

Colonial Williamsburg is offering FREE admission during Veterans Day weekend, Friday through Monday, November 8-11, to all active duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans, National Guardsmen and their immediate dependents. Celebrate with special events including in a march and ceremony honoring America's veterans over Veterans Day weekend on Sun. Nov. 10. Your free admission includes: Admission to more than 40 historic trades and sites, admission to our two world-class art museums, complimentary shuttle service.

Country Music Hall of Fame, Nashville, Tenn.

The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will honor active duty and retired armed services members Veterans Day weekend with free admission and special programming Saturday, Nov. 9, through Monday, Nov. 11. Free admission is also extended to up to three immediate family members.

George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Vernon, Va.

In honor of our nation's veterans, Mount Vernon admits FREE all active duty, former, or retired military personnel on Nov. 11.

Harley-Davidson Museum, Milwaukee, Wis.

We salute you! On November 9-11, Harley-Davidson Museum® will offer free Museum entry for all active military, veterans and their families. Learn more about H-D’s military involvement during the Military Gallery Talks at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Free entry with valid military or veterans ID for one additional adult and up to four children, 18 years old or younger. Knotts’s Berry Farm, Buena Park, Calif.

November 3 - 21 and December 2 - 19, 2019

Active, retired and veteran U.S. military personnel may receive free admission to Knott's Berry Farm for themselves and one guest from November 3 - 21 and December 2 - 19, 2019. Up to six military discount tickets may be purchased for $42 each when visiting from November 3 - 21 and $48 each when visiting from December 2 - 19, 2019. Military discount tickets are available for purchase at the Knott's ticket booths.

National Park Service

The National Park Service invites all visitors to remember our veterans by visiting any National Park Service site for free on Veterans Day. Free for all.

The National World War I Museum and Memorial, Kansas City, Mo.

Join us in honoring veterans with special activities, free public ceremonies on the grounds and free general admission for veterans and active-duty military to the Museum and Memorial on Friday, Nov. 8 through Monday, Nov. 11. In addition, general admission is half price for the public all weekend.

Newseum, Washington, D.C.

The Newseum once again offers free admission to veterans and active duty members of the U.S. military plus one guest. This promotion begins Saturday, Nov. 9 and continues throughout Veterans Day weekend, including Monday, Nov. 11.

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Tacoma, Wash.

U.S. military veterans are invited to enjoy the splendor of Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and the wonder of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium at no charge at Veterans’ Appreciation Days on Nov. 9, 10 and 11. Veterans’ immediate family members will receive half-off general admission at each zoo.

Sedgwick County Zoo, Wichita, Kan.

We salute members of our nation’s military, both active duty and veterans, for their dedication and service. To show our appreciation, we’re offering complimentary Zoo admission to all military personnel and their immediate families. To receive free admission, visitors must show a military or veteran ID, discharge papers, or other official identification. Families of deployed military personnel must show an active duty ID.

South Shore Line, Northwest Indiana into Chicago

To show our gratitude, all active duty military personnel and veterans are invited to ride the South Shore Line for free during the weekend of November 8-10 and on Veterans Day (Nov. 11).

Up to three children 13 years of age and under may ride free with each veteran on off- peak weekday and all weekend trains (off-peak weekday trains arrive at Millennium Station after 9:30 a.m. CST and depart Millennium Station before 3:30 p.m. and after 6:30 p.m. CST).

Sunset Zoo, Manhattan, Kan.

Saturday, Nov. 9 is Military Appreciation Day. All guests receive free admission in honor of American soldiers and their families. Thank you for your service!

World of Coca-Cola, Atlanta

Military members (active duty, reserves and retirees) can visit World of Coca-Cola free of charge year-round, but Veterans Day is extra special. To show World of Coca-Cola’s gratitude to the men and women who serve our country, the attraction is extending a special offer to their loved ones as well. From Friday, Nov. 1, to Monday, Nov. 11, members of the Armed Forces may purchase up to four half-price general admission tickets for their friends and family to join them in visiting the attraction. Tickets may be purchased with a valid Armed Forces ID card at the attraction’s ticketing windows.


Amazon Prime

From now until Veterans Day Nov. 11, Amazon Prime membership for veterans, active-duty military, National Guard and reserve is reduced from $119 to $79 for a year.

Free flu shots on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11 for all military veterans.

Great Clips

Veterans and current military members: Visit a U.S. Great Clips salon on Nov. 11 receive either a free haircut that day or the free haircut card to use at a later date. Non-military customers: Purchase a service at a U.S. Great Clips salon on Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran you know. Haircut Cards are redeemable until December 31, 2019.

Just Tires

Active and retired military receive free checks for vets plus free tire installation on any tire purchase. Must schedule appointment by Nov. 11 for service by Nov. 16.


Starting Thursday, Nov. 7, and running through Monday, Nov. 11, Kohl’s plans to doluble its regular military discount and give veterans, active-duty members and their families 30% off in stores nationwide. Kohl’s has “Military Mondays’ in which it gives military members, veterans and their families 15% off every Monday throughout the year.


As a small way to show our gratitude, veterans, active military personnel, and their families are invited to save 10% on groceries on Monday, Nov. 11.
