Elige Smith was born in Piave, Mississippi and grew up in Hattiesburg and Mobile, Alabama. I graduated rom Georgia Tech in 1960 with a degree in electrical engineering and worked on many famous projects such as the NASA "Surveyor" moon landing, "Space Telescope", Army field war research, Indian Health Service, etc. I am the author of four books which are "Southern Memories", "Little Moments", "Athletes Once", and "Dieters Checklist.
