Until the day we meet again
another soldier, another friend
he gave his all, he gave his life
defending what he felt was right

Another wife left all alone
knowing that he won't come home
another child without a dad
a photograph is all he has

Another mom whose heart is broke
remembers every word he spoke
of God and country, wrong and right
how he'd defend it with his life

Another friend, I never met
who gave his life without regret
a greater friend I've never seen
