Legion provides tablet to recovering servicemember

The Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors (OCW) recently provided a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 to a recovering wounded warrior at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center.

Perrish Stark, who was on active duty in the U.S. Army, was injured in a motor vehicle accident while stationed in Hawaii. He suffered a broken femur and ribs, and a collapsed lung and was in a coma for two weeks.

He was transferred to Trippler Army Medical Center and then to Minneapolis treatment for a traumatic brain injury.

OCW donated the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which will be used to assist in the servicemember’s cognitive development and rehabilitation with specialized mobile applications, keep track of numerous medical appointments, contact family and friends, and for entertainment purpose. The device will stay with the patient when he transfers to a Warrior Transition Unit later this month.

Department of Minnesota Assistant Service Officer Jeremy Wolfsteller presented the Galaxy Tab to Stark via an OCW donation. One hundred percent of all donations to OCW go to providing comfort items to wounded and ill active duty servicemembers and veterans. Donate online here. www.legion.org/donate.
