Ron LaRose

National Vice Commander

Ron LaRose was elected as a national vice commander of The American Legion on Aug. 28, 2025, during the 106th National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

A retired lieutenant colonel, LaRose served in the U.S. Army and Vermont Army National Guard for 39 years. He graduated from Vermont Technical College, majoring in civil engineering in 1966.

He is a resident of Bristol, Vt., and has been a licensed surveyor since 1970. Currently partnered with his son, Kevin, at LaRose Surveys, Ron also worked at the Vermont Agency of Transportation and Lee Lowell, Land Surveyor.

Upon retiring from the military, LaRose was awarded the Legion of Merit. He is a member of American Legion Post 19 in Bristol, Vt. He has served at every level of The American Legion, including Department of Vermont commander and in the organization’s National Executive Committee.

LaRose has been an active volunteer in Boys Scouts for many years and is the father and grandfather of three Eagle Scouts. He serves as chairman of the Town of Bristol Design Review Committee and has coached in in a number of youth sports programs, as well umpiring high school softball and baseball. 

LaRose and his wife, Connie, have two sons, Kevin and Brett; two daughters-in-law, Megan and Erin; and three grandchildren, Emma, Koby and Ella.
