Find a Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Program

In June of 2025 the Department of Wisconsin conducted it's Jr. Law Cadet Program at Ft. McCoy Deputy Training Facility. The program was lead by the Wisconsin Department Commander Jim Johnson.

High schools can recommend qualified students to their local American Legion post sponsoring the Youth Cadet Law Enforcement program. Students and schools interested in participating should reach out directly to their local sponsoring post to get started.

The program is open to male and female high school students who have completed their junior year and are in good academic standing. Applicants should demonstrate strong moral character and a genuine interest in the law enforcement profession.
